Vernita Bridges-Hoyt paints the essence of a subject. She is a colorist whose work has been described as Impressionist with a Texas twist. She paints strokes of pure color to be mixed by the viewer's eye. She paints the sauce of Texas.

A native Texan and lifelong artist, Vernita has a curiosity about life and always the will to learn. Her passion for new experiences is fulfilled through a dual focus on architecture and art. The professional degree of B.Architecture 1993 University of Houston and experience in the design of medical clinics, multi-family dwellings and hotels paved her way to the opening of V.Bridges Hoyt Design in 1997 with a specialization in residential design. In 2002 Vernita recognized her authentic calling to give back through the creation of artworks. Today as an artist she specializes in portraits of children and pets. A portion of each fee is donated to a charity helping children or animals in need. She is a founding member of the worldwide artists' alliance Art Helping AnimalsTM.

"I was born to be an artist. I design. I draw. I paint. My art is a collage of my life, and I try to bring a little bit of Texas sauce to each painting."
